UK Mug Shots – The First Mug

It took a while before deciding what I should choose as the first mug on my new Etsy shop, UK Mug Shots.

That’s the procrastinator in me. In the end I just chose something almost at random, just to get things going! Initially, I’ve chosen Sci-Fi and Funny as the two categories to go into my shop. ‘Funny’ because that’s clearly a very popular mug type that gets chosen out there, and ‘Sci-Fi’ simply because that’s what I particularly enjoy.

Anyway, I went with a funny mug to start things off. Of course, like any new beginning, it was a lot of work and figuring out before the mug design got anywhere near the shop! In the end, I felt exactly like what this first mug quoted, LOL.

It still makes me laugh today.

I ought to get one of these for my office for the times I need a strong cup of coffee. Right now I have a Science mug and a Star Wars mug (from my own range), even though Star Trek is my favoured topic. Go figure.

Well, I hope it tickles a mouth or two out there as it has mine. We all need cheering up at times (and especially at the time of writing this – the lovely Covid is still plaguing us all – will be nice when someone reads this and sees it as ‘old’ news).

Ironically, online ordering has increased massively as I started this shop (coincidentally) AND it’s just before Christmas, at a time when many physical shops are suffering. It kind of makes me feel guilty, but I didn’t plan it this way. Let’s hope they make it through. OK, the conversation getting a bit depressing now, so let’s finish on a more positive note…

I’ve started adding more humorous mugs to the shop to hopefully get a few more people smiling out there and Sci-Fi will be following swiftly. Cheers!
