Yep, it’s a possible Star Trek mug present for you or your loved one.  I thought that the statement ‘quantum singularity detected’ brought up visions of difficulty ahead, so what better to sort out the issues than a nice mug of coffee. Well that’s how I interpreted the ‘quantum singularity’ statement anyway, LOL. It usually works for me. What about you…?

Star Trek Mug Present

There is at least one similar mug (at the time of writing) to this that uses slightly different wording and different fonts. Once again I am trying to cater for different tastes to see what people like. Hope you like it.

Star Trek Mugs

This is the second Star Trek coffee mug to add to our line-up of coffee mugs today:

Love this Star Trek coffee mug latest. Slightly different theme this time around.

This double-standard quote is one of those that really did make me ‘LOL’! This works on so many levels and I just had to add it to the mug collection. I hope you like it too.

There aren’t any mugs similar in theme to this one (so far at the time of writing) but there are two mugs which may make you smile that don’t use a specific Star Trek quote like this one doesn’t, here. This Star Trek funny mug: “Star Trek, Eat, Sleep, Energise” and this general Sci-Fi funny mug along similar lines: “Watch Sci-Fi, Eat, Sleep, Beam Me Up“, although that does of course make a Star Trek reference in it.

Star Trek Coffee Mug

There’s no specific Star Trek quote on this coffee mug, but that’s why I like it even more. It doesn’t need a specific quote and works well on its own. I hope you like it too. I’m sure some of you out there may not be happy with me trivialising education, but for those of you thinking that way, this highlights the stupidity of not getting a good education, right?

Sci-Fi Mugs

The second Sci-Fi mug to make it into production was this one,

Again, that appealed to my nature and humour and has a similar tone to the earlier released sci-fi mug, “Watch Sci-Fi, Eat, Sleep, Beam Me Up“.

Initially, I have used ‘sci-fi’, which I guess covers a whole range of things that people are interested in, but it occurs to me I ought to also produce mugs that specifically name names like Star Trek, Star Wars and so on because people will be more interested in those. So I will be adding that to the ever-growing list of things to add to mugs.

Sci-Fi Mug Quandry

At first, I quite liked the script font used and shown here on the left. Now I’m not so sure. Should I have used a more movie-type of font, ie one that’s quite blocky and isn’t in italics? I guess time will tell and that means adding yet another sci-fi mug, this time using the same words but a different font.

I don’t know if I’m getting too picky sometimes and whether it’s just the message on the mug that’s important to people or whether the font matters too. Aaaarrgghhh. Who knew that putting a simple message on a mug would be so fraught with so many variables? I’m all in a state of temporal flux LOL.

Must be time to go to bed, wake up, watch sci-fi and be awesome I guess.

Sci-Fi Mugs

Having created and set up a number of funny mugs in the humour section of the Store, I wanted to start on my more favoured topic, that of sci-fi, so here is the start of a series of sci-fi mugs.

Star Trek has featured in my life, like many others, for a good few years. I have admired it for the escapism, the ‘technology’ and the continually-evolving story. So it definitely becomes my first port of call in the creation of sci-fi mugs for the Etsy Store. Even now, (but please, don’t tell anyone will you), I am genuinely watching Star Trek Voyager Series 5 Episode 8, ‘Nothing Human’, LOL.

Sci-Fi Mugs – Make It So!

Yea well, it’s my time, my website. So it’s only befitting that the very first sci-fi mug I’ve created it just about that very topic!

The theme is a common one in the humour section; a do something, eat, sleep, repeat theme.

I thought a ‘watch sci-fi’ theme would fit in here as this is something I would love doing a lot of the time LOL. So a ‘watch sci-fi, eat, sleep’ seemed a good fit. Adding the ‘beam me up’ at the end suggested a way of repeating the whole cycle using a Star Trek phrase.

I don’t think it’s a perfect phrase cycle but I quite like the reference. Of course, whether any visitors will feel the same is yet to be seen.

Sci-Fi Mugs

Here are a few more mugs added to the funny mug sayings collection in my shop. I’ve just added these to have a small base collection of funny mug sayings that people can choose. If any of these take off then it may be worthwhile adding yet more.

I am in two minds about these funny mugs. As I’ve said before in a previous funny mug post, I want to specialise in Star Trek, Star Wars and Sci-Fi mugs, but it all boils down to whether these are in demand, certainly here in the UK. It’s a bigger market in the USA and I’ll probably open another shop just to deal with that market separately. Again funny mug sayings or funny mug quotes are big in the USA but there’s also a big market for stuff like Star Trek mugs. We shall see.

There’s one mug amongst the funny mug sayings list you can see above that gets a lot of attention. Can you guess which one it is? I’ll reveal that in a future post.

Anyway, as always, each of these mug quotes is available in any of 12 colours; red, bordeaux red, orange, yellow, light blue, black, green, sunshine yellow, antique pink, light green, cambridge blue and cobalt blue.

Funny Mugs

It took a while before deciding what I should choose as the first mug on my new Etsy shop, UK Mug Shots.

That’s the procrastinator in me. In the end I just chose something almost at random, just to get things going! Initially, I’ve chosen Sci-Fi and Funny as the two categories to go into my shop. ‘Funny’ because that’s clearly a very popular mug type that gets chosen out there, and ‘Sci-Fi’ simply because that’s what I particularly enjoy.

Anyway, I went with a funny mug to start things off. Of course, like any new beginning, it was a lot of work and figuring out before the mug design got anywhere near the shop! In the end, I felt exactly like what this first mug quoted, LOL.

It still makes me laugh today.

I ought to get one of these for my office for the times I need a strong cup of coffee. Right now I have a Science mug and a Star Wars mug (from my own range), even though Star Trek is my favoured topic. Go figure.

Well, I hope it tickles a mouth or two out there as it has mine. We all need cheering up at times (and especially at the time of writing this – the lovely Covid is still plaguing us all – will be nice when someone reads this and sees it as ‘old’ news).

Ironically, online ordering has increased massively as I started this shop (coincidentally) AND it’s just before Christmas, at a time when many physical shops are suffering. It kind of makes me feel guilty, but I didn’t plan it this way. Let’s hope they make it through. OK, the conversation getting a bit depressing now, so let’s finish on a more positive note…

I’ve started adding more humorous mugs to the shop to hopefully get a few more people smiling out there and Sci-Fi will be following swiftly. Cheers!
